What Others Have to Say

From: Jake Russo, New York, USA

Dear Dorienne,

For the past 5 years we have left our frigid New York winter and travelled to South Africa for our annual December holiday. The last three trips we have made use of your services and I am just writing to
say thank you. There is really no comparison between the trips you organized for my family and I and our first two trips to South Africa. Thanks to you I feel I have truly experienced the finest that your exquisite country has to offer from the fabled African sunsets atop Table Mountain to taking our afternoon tea surrounded by such powerful beauty at Kirstenbosch.

The accommodation you book for us is perfectly South African and is always both charming and comfortable. I won't even get started on the delicious meals at each stay. I am now an expert on bobotie, chakalaka and of course the pap and boerewors. There is nothing better than eating outstanding South African food while experiencing the natural splendor and of the landscape. It is truly moving.

I have travelled widely through Europe, South America, Asia and Africa and no one books better holidays than you. We feel completely safe and confidant that we'll have a remarkable experience with you in charge. You have never let us down. I know that our next journey through the country will be another unique escape from the stresses of New York City and I am sure of this because I have learnt to rely on your impeccable judgment and unimpeachable professionalism.

There is no one finer than you Dorrienne!
Thanks

Hi Dorienne

Our trip to Ivory Tree Lodge was very special. Firstly, because we were celebrating Ron's 70th. Secondly because it was the first time that all our family (14 of us) excluding one grandchild who didn't come, have ever been on holiday together. To cap it all, I.T.Lodge was a really good up-market resort. The rooms were very pleasant and the reception area was very good. It has a lovely lounge and bar and 3 good buffet meals a day. The 2 game drives a day were pleasant - we didn't see hoards of animals but there was a good variety, including lions, elephants, white Rhino, buffalo, cheetah, and the usual zebra, giraffe etc. The Pilansberg Nature reserve is particularly pretty, surrounded by mountains

On Friday night they gave us an adjoining private dining room for Ron's birthday party, with lovely flowers, pretty serviettes on the table and a birthday cake with sparklers which the staff carried in singing Happy Birthday.

Thanks for booking the venue for us - it was a good choice and we would certainly call on you again and would recommend you to our family and friends.

Best wishes

Dear Dorienne

Where do we start? From the moment we exchanged emails to the fortunate time we spent with you, we have been overwhelmed by you. By how wonderfully you managed our safari, by how far you went to ensure we had an amazing time, by the time and energy and knowledge you shared with us in Jo'burg but most importantly by the beautiful soul we've met and see in you. Words will never be enough but thank you.

Ruth & Jess

XOXO

This serves to record our appreciation of the fine service and assistance given to ourselves by African Stay.

As a large importer and exporter of product, we regularly meet both our international suppliers and customers here in South Africa. It is through African Stay that we have made their stays in Southern Africa so memorable and successful.

African Stay has assisted in the planning of their stay and all reservations very professionally, promptly and particularly, in a very imaginative and creative manner.

We would truly recommend African Stay for the planning and implementation of both business and tour visits to Southern Africa.

Yours truly,
Lynn Fisher

Hey Dorienne

. I just wanted to share this letter that I sent to Nancy, my publicist.

Nancy,

I'm just so glad you put me in touch with Dorienne Levitt. You know better than most I'm not easy to deal with and have a fairly large amount of requirements and Dorienne sorted it all out! She was professional but personal and her attention to the little details really rocked the tour.

She booked me and the band at the most incredible hotels and made sure I always had somewhere to work out, vegetarian cooking and wow, the experiences were incredible.

I got to see every facet of Southern African life from the townships of Alexandra and Soweto to the exquisite power of that unique wilderness.

I gotta say, you would have loved Cape Town - wish you'd have come along.

So anyways, Dorienne helped out with my concerns and gave me all the cultural tips and tricks and wheres and hows so even when we were out and about we felt perfectly safe.

All in all the tour was much more than a success, it was the most special experience of my life!

See ya,
Arron

Karina and I would like to put on record our appreciation of the Honeymoon holiday your arranged for us in South Africa.

From start to finish the arrangements were perfect, and you clearly understood our needs.

We haven’t stopped talking about the holiday since returning, and the photos and souvenirs serve as a constant reminder of this.

We are very happy to recommend African Stay

Hello Dorienne

I have thought of you often over the past week and apologize for not sending this note earlier. It is always crazy coming back home after an extended vacation and the days get away too quickly.

Amy and I had a fantastic trip to Africa! We were so pleased with the accommodations, the itinerary, and the people we encountered…just a wonderful experience!

I want to thank you both for all the time and energy that you put into building this itinerary for us as it was all we hoped for and then more. We were lucky to have very good weather on our journey. We did not see a drop of rain for the entire 17 days, and we were well prepared for the various temperatures that we encountered.

Highlights / Comments of each stop throughout the trip…

Cape Town is a spectacular city, and we learned so much from Rhys. He is very professional as well as flexible, and we really enjoyed our time travelling in and around the city with him. The Cape Grace is a superb hotel with great service and so well located on the waterfront. We were lucky on the weather as it was beautiful every day.

Bush Lodge was a very good choice for our safari portion. We were pleased with accommodations, food and service. The only downside was that there were a lot of kids on property while we were there. Lauren, the Resort Manager, and Fred, our Ranger, took very good care of us and were fantastic people. We saw the Big 5 numerous times and the photo opportunities never stopped.

Livingstone was a new experience as there was a dramatic difference in leaving South Africa. Victoria Falls was amazing and the helicopter ride topped off the view. The cruise and elephant safari were great, and the lion encounter was ok. As far as the accommodations, the Royal Livingstone is a visually one of the most beautiful hotels that I have seen. Being on the property was just breathtaking. That being said, the food and service we encountered there were not at the same level of the other hotels that we stayed. This was disappointing considering the beauty of the property and price. There was also confusion on a few occasions with tour operators between the tours we had booked, pick up time for departure, etc. This is the only place where we encountered any problems at all.

Johannesburg was a quick one night stay, but the hotel and location were great. Transfers to and from the airport were professional and on time.

Indigo Bay was a challenge to get to, but well worth it! The property was beautiful, the weather fantastic, and the food and service were both very good. Our accommodations were very nice, and while there were several children there, the adult pool allowed us quiet time to relax.

We had a blog for our friends and family to follow our adventures that got great reviews, and returned from our trip with over 1300 photos and many videos. The memories of this trip will stay with us for life and we are so happy to have experienced it all.

You will definitely hear from us in the future as we would be anxious to take a similar trip over the next few years.

Again, thank you for all of your help and work to set up this once in a lifetime journey for us! AMAZING!

Take care,
Kim
